[ARCHIVED] Air quality unhealthy, mask distribution available

PRESS RELEASE

City of Woodland Fire Department

1000 Lincoln Ave.
 Woodland, CA 95695
 Phone: 530-661-5860
 Fax: 530-662-5781

Air quality will remain unhealthy through Thursday. “People with respiratory diseases, such as asthma and emphysema, pregnant women, children and the elderly, especially should do everything they can to stay indoors,” said Yolo County Health Officer Ron Chapman, MD, MPH.  “Masks are only needed for high risk populations who must go outside or those who do extended work outside.”

Due to the limited availability of N95 masks in local stores, Yolo County Public Health will be distributing N95 masks tomorrow, November 14, for specific populations: individuals who are unable to avoid being outside for more than four hours; those with respiratory disease; pregnant women, children and the elderly.  Masks will be available for pick-up tomorrow, 9am-5pm at the following locations:

Woodland Fire Station 3

Community Room

1550 Springlake Court in Woodland

West Sacramento Fire Station 45
2040 Lake Washington Blvd in West Sacramento

It is still the recommendation from the Yolo County Health Officer and the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District  that all residents limit time outdoors and exposure to the smoke.
