Tip of the Month

Did you know that not all wrapping paper is recyclable? Some wrapping papers have metallic finishes, glitter, or pieces that are made of plastic and make the paper
non-recyclable! Avoid buying these products and make sure to keep them out of your recycle bin this holiday season.

Visit HolidayRecycling.com for more green gift-giving ideas and information on holiday recycling.

Rain Barrel

Don't Miss Out on Water Savings!

When the rain does come, take advantage of storms by diverting the water back to your landscape. The City of Woodland offers the following rebates to help you conserve water and avoid water waste outside
your home.
  • Weather-Based Irrigation Controllers
If you don’t want to go out in the rain to turn off your irrigation controller, then consider a weather-based model. Most of these can be controlled from your smartphone, plus they automatically override schedules on rainy days. The best part is the City of Woodland offers a rebate of up to $150!
  • Rain Barrel
If you’re interested in saving rainwater to use at a later date, think about installing a rain barrel or two and receive up to $75 per rain barrel. Rain is an excellent source of water for plants and landscape irrigation since it has no chemicals such as chlorine.
Click here for more information on these and other rebates that are available for Woodland residents.

Holiday Reminders

Waste Management services will not run on Christmas and New Year’s Day. If your collection day falls on Friday, your service will
occur on Saturday.
