July is Smart Irrigation Month

Smart Irrigation Month is a public awareness campaign to promote efficient outdoor water use and help protect community water supplies for today and the future. During July, typically the highest month for irrigation, we will be focusing on watering cooler, smarter, and less.
  • Water Cooler! Water in the morning before 10am or in the evening after 6pm when it's cool. In the middle of the day, temperatures are at their peak and water will evaporate much quicker.

  • Water Smart! Adjust your watering schedule regularly to account for seasonal weather conditions. Get a custom schedule at BeyondTheDrought.com.

  • Water Less! Replace broken sprinkler heads and adjust the arc to avoid runoff. Excessive runoff can pollute our local waterways and be costly.
Under the Stage 2: Water Warning, the City of Woodland is restricting irrigation to no more than three days per week. These watering restrictions are a preventive measure to assist the City in reducing water usage during the summer months.
