Sustainability Advisory Committee News

The committee will be holding their next meeting on May 17 at 6pm. The SAC meetings are open to the public and meets every third Wednesday of the month at the Woodland Community & Senior Center. To view upcoming meetings, agendas and past meeting minutes, click here. 
Landscape Tour

Water-Wise Landscape Tour is on May 20

Come learn how various neighbors have filled their yards with beautiful California natives, and other water-wise choices, including drought-tolerant plants such as succulents.


Place: City Hall - 300 First St.

Time: 8:00 am - 8:30 am Pollinator Presentation

          8:30 am - 12:00 pm Plant Sale & Self-Guided Tour


Meet us at City Hall at 8:00 am to view a presentation on the importance of pollinators in a water-wise garden. Afterwards pick up some water-wise plants sold by Woodland High School (cash and checks only), and explore beautiful, low-water landscapes on a self-guided tour in the surrounding neighborhood until 12 pm.

Paint Recycling

Paint Recycling at the Yolo County Landfill

Ever wonder what happens to your paint when you recycle it at the Yolo County Landfill? Paint is either recycled into new paint or placed in the Reuse Shed to share with others! In partnership with PaintCare, Visions Quality Coatings collects Yolo County Landfill’s paint, mixes like colors together to create tints which allows them to create their signature colors. 


Next time you need latex paint, come check out the Reuse shed or pick up a full gallon of upcycled paint for $16 from the Big Blue Barn!

Reuse Shed

Paint and HHW Reuse Shed at the Yolo County Landfill

The Reuse shed at the Yolo County Landfill doesn’t just have paint, they also have all types of other partially used HHW products such as wood stains, spray paints, household cleaners, fertilizers, and so much more for free! The reuse shed is open during HHW hours Thursday – Saturday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm and has new stock every week.
Car Show

Back to the Street Car Show 

Join us on May 13th for the Back to the Street Car Show in Downtown Woodland starting at 9 am! Envirowoodland will be in Heritage Plaza with oil change kits and information about how to recycle used oil in Woodland until about 1:00 pm.

Upcoming Holiday Reminders

City offices will be closed on Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day.
Waste Management services will not be affected.
