Woodland Public Library June Newsletter

Get Outside with the Woodland Public Library this Summer!

Summer at the Library runs from June 1 to July 31 and features many great programs and events for the whole family. The Woodland Public Library will be kicking off its summer reading program Saturday, June 10th at a free family event from 10-12pm on the front lawn of the library. The Summer Reading Kickoff will feature Pixie Tribe with a bubble party at 10 AM, along with Rec2Go. Families can register for our summer reading program and receive a free treat from the Kona Ice truck, play games with Rec2Go, meet some costumed characters, and enjoy our pop up library. All ages are welcome.

This year the theme of the summer reading program is Get Outside with the Woodland Public Library: Read, Make, Explore.

  • Read – The goal is to have all participants read at least five books this summer, which will help kids prevent the Summer Slide, losing ground gained in school over the year.
  • Make – Make something at a library event, in Square One, at home, or out and about in your community.
  • Explore – Lastly, embrace new experiences, adventures, and learning over the summer by exploring the library’s offerings, the Woodland community, and beyond. There is a program for every age! This is also a great opportunity to take a peek at the library’s makerspace, Square One.

There is a program for every age!
