The following is a summary of key Spring Lake projects and their status.

An interactive map of these projects can be found here.

Sports Park Drive Bike & Pedestrian Overcrossing

The Pedestrian Overcrossing project is largely complete. The contractor continues to work to remedy a drainage issue and one sidewalk portion. The site will continue to be closed to the public until these issues are resolved.

The City appreciates the patience of our residents as we work through the final stages of construction. We know that this is a highly anticipated project and are urging our contractor to complete this work as quickly as possible. Staff currently anticipates that the overcrossing will be complete in August.

Parks

Spring Lake Park

Concrete work is nearly complete, including all concrete paths. The restroom building has been installed and the playground installation is in progress. Irrigation is also almost complete and will be ready for planting soon. We anticipate that the 90-day plant maintenance period will be complete this fall.

Rick Gonzales Sr. Park

The contractor has finished irrigation and started planting trees, shrubs, and other landscape. They are also working to finish both the tennis and basketball courts. We anticipate that the 90-day plant maintenance period will be complete this fall.

Jack Slaven Park

The contractor began the 90-day plant establishment period, during which the park will remain closed and fenced to allow the plants to fully establish. The remaining work on the basketball court, path lighting, and electrical system will continue during the establishment period. Once all work is complete and the establishment period is over, the park will open to the public this fall.
