As you gear up for spring, here's a friendly reminder: if you're turning on your irrigation system, take a moment to check for leaks. To make the most of your water usage, aim to have it run before 10am or after 6pm. This helps maximize water retention and minimize water loss due to evaporation. Let's make our water use smart and efficient!

March is Fix-a-Leak Week

Fix-a-Leak Week is just around the corner and we encourage water users to pay extra attention to their appliances to ensure they are working efficiently. Not sure where to start? Sign up for AquaHawk!

AquaHawk is the City's free water use dashboard and leak alert system. You can view your hourly and daily water consumption to look for abnormalities and high water use patterns. Sign up or log in today at cityofwoodland.gov/mywateruse to check if you have any hidden leaks.

Free Compost Giveaway for Yolo County Residents!

Attention Yolo County residents! It's that time of year again – the Yolo County Central Landfill is offering free compost to all locals from March 1 to May 31, 2024. Take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to enrich your garden soil! No appointment necessary; just bring along your driver's license or utility bill as proof of residency. 

The Yolo County Landfill is located at 44090 County Rd 28H, open Monday through Saturday, 6:30 am to 4 pm, and Sundays from 8 am to 4 pm. Remember to bring your shovel and bags for easy loading. For more information, visit YoloCounty.org/Landfill.

Sustainability Advisory Committee News
