Adjust Sprinklers for Cooler, Wetter WeatherWith shorter days and rainy weather ahead, now’s the perfect time to reduce irrigation timers—or turn them off completely—and adjust for daylight savings. As temperatures drop, plants need less water, and watering in the rain wastes both water and money. Consider upgrading to a Weather-Based Irrigation Controller, which automatically pauses watering when it rains. Rebates and discounts are still available; click here for more information.

Don't let FOG Dampen Your Holiday! The holidays are a busy time in the kitchen, but remember: fats, oils, and grease (FOG) don’t go down the drain! When poured into sinks, FOG can harden and build up in pipes, leading to costly clogs and sewer backups. Instead, let fats cool, scrape them into a container, and dispose of them in your organics cart. Keeping drains clear this season helps our pipes flow smoothly and protects our water quality!
