Green Waste Street Pile Program Updates

Starting on July 1, 2025, all single-family residences in Woodland will receive street pile service during "Week 1," which begins on the first Tuesday of each month.

Residents’ regular pickup day of the week will remain the same - only the service week is changing. Weekly street sweeping will continue as usual, and weekly collection during Leaf Drop Season (November–January) will remain in place. Cart service will not change. Smart Irrigation Month

July is Smart Irrigation Month

As we approach summer, many irrigation systems will be turned on. Follow these steps to help maintain a healthy yard and conserve water.

STEP 1:

Regularly check your irrigation system for leaks, broken sprinkler heads, or faulty valves. Small issues can lead to big water waste. Click here for a helpful checklist to walk you through each zone of your system.

STEP 2:

Limit irrigation to no more than three times per week. Less frequent watering encourages deeper roots, helping your lawn become more resilient to heat and drought. Need help figuring out how long to run your system? Visit BeyondtheDrought.com to create a personalized watering schedule.

STEP 3:

Avoid over-watering by checking the soil moisture. Use a moisture meter or insert a screwdriver into the lawn. If the screwdriver can go in more than three inches, the lawn doesn't need to be watered. Another easy way to tell if your lawn needs water is to simply walk across the grass. If you leave footprints, your lawn may be thirsty!

Happy fourth of July!

Fireworks Safety Reminder!

Celebrating the Fourth of July with fireworks? Make sure to stay safe after the show too! Used fireworks can stay hot and dangerous long after they’ve gone off.

Here’s how to safely dispose of fireworks:

  1. Soak all used and unused fireworks in a bucket of water for at least 24 hours before disposal. This ensures they’re fully extinguished and won’t pose a fire hazard.
  2. Place them in your regular trash bin—never in your recycling or organics bins.

Have a fun and safe Fourth of July!
