Fire Inspection and Operational Permit Fees

Disclaimer: The initial inspection and one re-inspection are included in your inspection and/or fire permit fee. Fire permits must be renewed annually, with some exceptions for permits with shorter terms. Please be advised that the 2nd and any subsequent re-inspections will incur additional fees. Non-compliance may also result in the initiation of the administrative citation process, which could lead to fines. All re-inspections are billed at a minimum of one hour, with charges applied in quarter-hour increments for additional time. Please note that fire inspection and operational permit fees are adjusted each fiscal year and are subject to change.

GENERAL INSPECTION SERVICES

*A CITY OF WOODLAND BUSINESS LICENSE IS REQUIRED TO OPERATE WITHIN THE CITY OF WOODLAND

Per the City Municipal Code: “License Required—Illegal Businesses Prohibited. No person shall transact and carry on a business in the City without first procuring a license therefor, except that no license shall be required of any person for any mere delivery in the City of any property purchased or acquired in good faith from such person at his or her regular place of business outside the City, where no intent by such person is shown to exist to evade the provisions of this chapter. Notwithstanding any provision of this chapter, no person shall transact, perform, engage in and carry on in the City of Woodland any business, trade, profession, calling, use or occupation that cannot be, or is not, conducted or carried out without being in violation of State or Federal law, or this code, and no license will be issued for any such business, trade, profession, calling, use, or occupation.” (CMC 5.04.040).

"Business" means and includes profession, trade, occupation, and every kind of calling, whether or not carried on for profit. Business shall include the rental of more than four rental units.

FIRE OPERATIONAL PERMIT FEES

These fees are for the fire operational permit only. Inspection is not required, but may occur on an annual, biennial or triennial basis. If an inspection occurs, there is no additional fee in addition to the fire operational permit.
