This class trains participants to become certified lifeguards. Participants must be able to swim 300 yards continuously and retrieve a ten-pound brick from 7 feet-deep water. They should also be prepared to be in the water for every class meeting. Participants must complete the online course before the in-person class Sessions. The online course will be approximately 20-25 hours and available the week before the class. Upon completing this class, participants will receive an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification.

This course does not include Title 22 advanced first aid certification. (It is not required for those seeking employment with the City of Woodland, but may be necessary for those working for other agencies.

Class Details

The class is taught using Blended Learning. Students are expected to complete the Blended Learning portion before the first day of class. Students will be provided with a link to follow in preparation for class.
