SUMMARY OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WOODLAND, CALIFORNIA ADJUSTING THE BOUNDARIES OF CITY COUNCIL ELECTION DISTRICTS TO INCLUDE ANNEXED TERRITORIES
At a meeting of the City Council of the City of Woodland to be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers, 300 First Street, City Hall, Woodland, CA, the Ordinance as described below will be considered for adoption:
The City Council of the City of Woodland will consider the adoption of an ordinance, which if adopted, would amend Section 1.16.110 of Chapter 1.16 of the Woodland Municipal Code.
The proposed ordinance would adjust the boundaries of City Council election districts to include recently annexed territories. In accordance with California Elections Code section 21603(a), the newly annexed areas will be incorporated into Districts 2 and 3.
The ordinance amends Woodland Municipal Code Section 1.16.110 to formally establish these boundary changes. The updated district boundaries will supersede those set by Ordinance No. 1721.
The above summary constitutes the major highlights of the proposed Ordinance. A copy of the full text of the Ordinance is available at the City Clerk's office located at 300 First Street, Woodland, California 95695. Persons interested may appear before the City Council at the above date, place and time. If the City Council approves this Ordinance, the Ordinance will become effective thirty days after its passage.
